Nasce a Trapani nel 1924; dopo gli studi all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo, nel 1946 si trasferisce a Roma, dove frequenta lo studio di Pietro Consagra. Nel 1947 firma il manifesto del gruppo Forma 1 insieme ad Attardi, Consagra, Dorazio, Guerrini, Perilli, Sanfil1
