Nasce a Bergamo nel 1905. Nel 1926 si trasferisce a Milano dove si dedica all'arte grafica e applicata. Il linguaggio artistico di Bonfanti è molto personale, e il suo percorso di ricerca estetica coniuga la grande tradizione italiana ad un astrattismo internazionale.1
